Sarai or Sarah (as she is later named, Genesis 17:15) is a biblical matriarch, the ancestor of important descendants. She is Abraham’s wife and is said by Abraham to be his half-sister (Genesis 20:12).

Sarah is the mother of Isaac, Abraham’s second son. Her death is narrated in Genesis 23:1, following Isaac’s near-sacrifice.
