SOTS Book List

The SOTS Book List, published annually by Sage Publications, provides short reviews of hundreds of new books each year in the field of Old Testament and cognate studies, including archaeology, epigraphy, Hebrew and related Semitic languages, relevant ancient Near Eastern history and literature, the Hellenistic world, early Judaism, and social anthropology. SOTS Monographs

The SOTS Monographs series, published by Cambridge University Press, aims to publish new, original monographs exploring topics that belong to the field of Old Testament Study, including interdisciplinary approaches (as long as the key findings relate to biblical studies). Guides to the Old Testament

The Society’s new series of Study Guides, published by Bloomsbury T&T Clark, aims to provide a concise, comprehensive, manageable and affordable guide to each book of the Old Testament. Oudtestamentische Studiën

The Oudtestamentische Studiën series, published by Brill, carries the subtitle ‘Old Testament studies published on behalf of the Societies for Old Testament Studies in the Netherlands and Belgium, South Africa, the United Kingdom and Ireland’. It embraces both monographs and collected studies, including the papers from the triennial Joint SOTS/OTW Meetings. Further information is available here.

 

Occasional publications

From time to time the Society commissions volumes of special studies, such as essays designed to survey the current state and progress of research in Old Testament Study or to commemorate particular milestones in the activities of the Society, including its Centenary in 2017. SOTS Wiki

This online, regularly updated publication seeks to provide reliable scholarly information in the subject area of Old Testament Study. The entries are written and edited by specialists in the field, and aim to be accurate while reflecting current debates.
