About cookies

This website uses only the cookies it needs to sign people in and take payments. There is no tracking, no analytics and no advertising.

A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. Most of this site sets no cookies at all: you can read every public page without any being stored. Cookies are set only when you sign in, or pay for a subscription or a meeting booking.

All of them are strictly necessary — the sign-in or payment you asked for cannot work without them — so the law does not require us to ask for your consent first, and you will not see a cookie banner here. You can block or delete cookies in your browser’s settings, but you will then not be able to sign in or pay online.

These cookies hold only a random code; they contain no personal information and are sent only to this website, over a secure connection.

Cookies set by our card payment provider

Card payments are handled by Braintree, a PayPal service, so that your card details never reach the Society. On the payment page only, Braintree and its card-security partner Cardinal (which runs your bank’s “3-D Secure” check) may set their own cookies and similar identifiers to prevent fraud and complete that check. They are strictly necessary for paying by card and are not used for advertising. See PayPal’s cookie statement, which covers Braintree.

What we do not use

  • No analytics or visitor statistics (such as Google Analytics).
  • No advertising, social-media or tracking cookies.
  • No third-party fonts or scripts on ordinary pages — everything is served from this website.

How the Society looks after members’ personal information is set out in its GDPR policy. Questions about this page can be sent to the Society’s Information Officer via the Committee page. Last updated 14 October 2026.
