Professor Tryggve Mettinger
Professor Emeritus of Hebrew Bible, Lund University
Professor Mettinger held his chair at Lund University from 1978-2003 and was visiting professor with teaching assignments at various universities in the US, Israel, the Netherlands and South Africa. He was awarded the Thuréus prize (Humanities) in 2008 by the Kungl. Vetenskaps-Societeten i Uppsala. His earlier writing was on aspects of kingship, notions of God in the Old Testament, and the Servant Songs. His more recent works include papers on Israelite aniconism and the Song of Songs.
