‘In whatever tribe the stranger settles’: a symposium on the Bible and migration
(Trinity College Dublin, April 6-7)
Launching the Trinity Centre for Biblical Studies (Trinity College Dublin), this symposium (April 6-7) will offer a space for exploring biblical traditions with particular attention to the ways in which they shed light on and are illuminated by contemporary issues relating to migration.  The expectation is that this symposium and the conversations generated will not only deepen our understanding of the biblical tradition(s), but also contribute to a fuller appreciation of how these traditions might be used in responding to the contemporary realities of migration in the world today.
Speakers include:  Gregory Cuéllar (Austin, TX), Markus Zehnder (Leuven), Yvonne Sherwood (Kent), Casey Strine (Sheffield), Emilie Taylor (Sheffield), Katherine Southwood (Oxford), Charlie Hadjiev (Belfast) and David Shepherd (Dublin).
All members of SOTS are welcome to join us in Dublin for this symposium.  For more information, please contact David Shepherd: shepherd@tcd.ie
