Professor Kratz was Principal ‘Investigator’ in the German-Israeli project Scripta Qumranica Electronica and is Director of Editio critica maior of the Greek Psalter (funded by the Union of the German Academies): some materials are now available on open access at https://septuaginta.uni-goettingen.de/. Qumran Digital: Text and Lexicon (funded by the DFG), at the Göttingen Academy for Sciences and Humanities, is now fully available online at qumran-digital.org. So too is his project ‘The Arabic and Syriac manuscripts of Ahiqar’, which has received a second phase of funding from 2022–2025: see https://ahiqar.uni-goettingen.de/website/. Professor Kratz’s research interests include the textual and compositional history of the Hebrew Bible, especially the narrative books; prophecy in the ancient Near East and the Hebrew Bible; and the formation of Judaism in Persian and Hellenistic times, with a special focus on Elephantine and Qumran.
